Yorkton Aquabatix swimmers compete at Weyburn

The Yorkton Aquabatix Synchronized Swimming Club recently participated in Saskatchewan's Marnie Eistetter Figures Meet in Weyburn.

Saturday, November 26 featured a camp the girls attended which offered many classes from nutrition to yoga, figures and swimming. The camp was followed by a banquet in which the Yorkton Aquabatix Club won the Membership Incentive Award for the biggest growth of a Saskatchewan synchronized swimming club membership in the 2010-2011 season.

The swimmers were coached by Morgan Clifford and Brittany Morin.

Results of the synchronized swim meet November 27 were: In the eight and under class, Keauna Heimbecker placed first with a score of 46.17. In the 10 and under category which had 24 competitors, third place went to Chloe Popoff with a score of 47.235; Zoe Pfeifer finished ninth with a score of 42.677; Sydney Hovdestad was 11th with a score of 42.456; and Cassidy Lake finished 14th with a score of 41.847. In the12 & under division which had 33 competitors third place went to Madison Neufeld with a score of 52.926; Mackenzie Dull was seventh with a score of 48.71; Amy Hovdestad finished 13th with a score of 46.596. In the 13-15 years class with 24 competitors, third place was claimed by Jessica Lewthwaite with a score of 53.113; Mikayla Walker placed ninth with a score of 48.87.
