Four Yorkton senior baseball players contributed to Saskatchewan's winning ballclub at the 2013 Western Canadian Senior AA Baseball Championships held in Provost from August 22-25. Former Cardinals Logan Kachur, and Drew and Logan Calanchie joined Yorkton Yankees pitcher Dan Morari.

The four played on the Saskatoon Smokin' Guns who won the AA Senior Baseball title this year at provincial and got a huge boost from adding the Yorkton quartet to their club. Logan Calanchie was the Yorkton Yankees staff ace in their undefeated defense of their SESBL title and Dan Morari was rock solid as well all season in addition to being strong at the plate, that play transferred to Westerns as the Smokin' Guns were one of the best teams in the round robin.

Saskatoon opened up the tournament by losing to Prince George 6-5 in a very close ballgame before recovering with 7-5 and 10-1 wins that were good enough to see the Guns advance despite a loss to the Calgary Cards in their final round robin game. They would be in the Western Canadian Championship where they would play in a rematch against the very same Prince George team that beat them in the opening game.

It would be a much different story in the final as Saskatchewan sealed up a 9-5 win over Prince George to give the province the 2013 Western Canadian Senior AA baseball title, something that reflected what was a strong year for AA baseball in the province.
