The Yorkton Regional High School unveiled its Football Viewing Tower this past Saturday in front of players and spectators alike.
The tower, which will be a valuable look-out point for media and coaches, was built for Century Field as a continuation of improvements to Yorkton's football facilities.
With the ceremony being conducted during the midst of a football triple-header, players from the YRHS?Senior Raiders and the Notre Dame Hounds were on hand, as well players from the Junior Raiders and Pee Wee Gridders.
As is typical of a community project, sponsorship made the building of the tower possible. Representatives of the businesses who donated to the cause were on hand for the ribbon-cutting including; Yorkton Concrete, Home Hardware, Weber's Building Centre, Deneschuk Homes Ltd and D's Signs and Designs.
Lee Rusnak of Deneschuk Homes says that they were eager to help in the construction of the tower after being approached by the high school.
"I thought it was a good idea being that it was a needed project to have in the community. We donated some product and it turned out to be an alright venture," he says, "We just thought it was worthwhile."
