The Cab Clothing/Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) Female Athlete of the Month for March, Kyla Bassing-thwaite, is a Grade 12 student at YRHS. She has been a member of the cross-country team, Legion Track Team and the school track team for the past four years.
Bassingthwaite has also been a member of the senior girls' basketball team for the last two years.
Recently she joined the senior badminton team and has played on the girls' soccer team for the first time. In her spare time she enjoys working out and hanging out with friends.
Bassingthwaite is a member of the school band and participated in the musical and the band trip to Banff.
She is also involved with voice lessons and is just finishing the music festival.
Throughout high school she has maintained an above 90 average. She hopes to continue her studies in sports and exercise next year at the University of Regina in the science faculty.
The Cab Clothing/YRHS Male Athlete of the Month for March, Stephen Hutton, is a Grade 11 student who, over the years, has played volleyball, basketball, badminton and competed in track.
He also enjoys snowboarding and going for runs.
In his free time he likes shooting hoops and hanging with his friends.
Hutton maintains an 80 per cent average in his studies.
He would like to thank his friends, family and coaches for their time and support.
