The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) Senior Lady Raiders hosted a ten team girls' volleyball tournament over the weekend. YRHS had two team entered, a senior team and a junior team entered in the tournament.

Senior Lady Raider head coach Lee Poncelet, tournament coordinator reports the senior girls finished second in their pool to advance to the quarter finals whereby they were eliminated by Weyburn, while the junior girls were eliminated, finishing fifth in their five team pool.

Both YRHS teams have 10 players on the team. The senior team has six Grade 12s, two Grade 11s and two Grade 10s. The junior team has two Grade 11s and eight Grade 10s, Poncelet reports.

The junior team is coached by Jennifer Ingham. Though a young team, they're athletic and promise to become a good team, Poncelet predicts. "They're going to play hard every game," he adds.

The senior girls, while not big, will play hard every game, he suggests. Their strength is probably their attitude, Poncelet asserts.

The Senior Lady Raiders will be working on offense and passing to pick up their game, he says.

The Lady Raiders will play in Prince Albert (P.A.) and the have weekend off. Following the open weekend the team will play for the next seven weekends out of the next eight. They'll play in Canora, Roblin Sacred Heart, Weyburn, Balgonie, and P.A. The they'll travel to Moose Jaw for regionals and oposibly followed by provincials.
