The Cab Clothing/ Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) Female Athlete of the Month for January, Brandey Blahut, is a Grade 10 student maintaining a 90 per cent plus average.
Currently, she is on the senior girl's basketball and curling teams. In the fall, Blahut had a very successful cross country season, placing third at provincials.
She was also on the girls' soccer and junior girls' volleyball teams and is looking forward to the upcoming badminton and track seasons.
Blahut is the Fine Arts Director on the S.R.C. and plays in the concert and jazz bands.
Outside of school she is working on her Grade 9 piano, enjoys spending time with her friends and snowboarding. She would like to thank her family and coaches for all of their support.
The Cab Clothing/ Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) Male Athlete of the Month for December is Layne Hull. He is currently a Grade 10 student at YRHS. In his two years as a student at (YRHS) he has enjoyed many sports.
Hull has played football since Grade 5. He played on the Senior Foot-ball team in Grade 10 and hopes to continue playing for two more years.
Hull was honored as Rookie of Year this past season. He also won a football scholarship and will attend the U of S Huskies football camp this summer.
Hull enjoys playing basketball, which he played in Grade 9 and is currently playing in Grade 10.
Outside of school he also participates in biking and snowmobiling as well as helping on the farm with many responsibilities.
