The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Female Athlete of the Month for December, Rebecca Kriger, was a member of the junior girls basketball and volleyball teams as a grade nine student. She was a member of the Senior Girls basketball team for the last three years and is currently the captain of the Senior Lady Raiders.
In addition to her time spent in the gym, Kriger has served on a variety of committees. She is involved in her community and has served as athletic director as well as the social director for the YRHS student council.
Currently, she holds the position of SRC Female President for the 2010-11 school year. She is a strong academic student and has maintained honour roll status for each of her semesters in high school.
Kriger has shown great improvement in her game and is one of the Lady Raiders leading scorers and rebounders. She consistently shows outstanding leadership skills both on and off the floor.
The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Male Athlete of the Month for December, Daniel Mandziuk is currently a Grade 10 student at YRHS.
He plays on the senior basketball team and was also on the senior volleyball team that made it to provincials last fall.
He also played on the school soccer team.
Out of school, Mandziuk played on the Under 15 provincial basketball team that placed seventh at nationals.
He hopes to have a successful year with the senior basketball team and to enjoy his next two years at YRHS.
Mandziuk leads by example on and off the court and is an inspiration to his teammates.
