Neilson Cattle Company held its annual spring bull sale on their farm south of Willowbrook Friday. The sale saw 20 two-year old Charolais bulls sold averaging $5780, for a gross of $115,600.

Irises are both beautiful and true survivors
I still have the white and purple bearded iris (Iris germanica) that I first grew more than forty years ago, ‘Mrs Andrist’. It was a gift from an older gardener down the back lane and would now be considered a “heritage plant” (hybridized in 1919).
