St. Michael Grade 2 class shows off animal posters to visitors

The Grade 2 class at St. Michael School showed off their animal posters for science class on Friday, bringing in their Grade 7 reading buddies to have a look, along with Fr. Valentine Amobi, who stopped by to see the posters. The class spent about a month working on them, and did presentations to their class before inviting other classes to come and see them.

Inclusion Weyburn hosts sensory-free photos for families with Santa

Many Weyburn families were able to take sensory-free photos with Santa Claus on Saturday, set up by Inclusion Weyburn to allow children to have photos without the stress of large crowds or noisy environment. Volunteer Santa Randy Bakaluk had booking at Zion Lutheran Church throughout the day, and each family could have 15 or 30 minutes to be with Santa.

Weyburn Tourism opened its River Park Sparkles displays to the public as of Friday, and it will be on every evening at 5:30 p.m. until Jan. 7, 2024. RIver Park is open for motorists or pedestrians free of charge, with displays by businesses and organizations throughout the park. A number of the displays were part of the Parade of Lights held on Thursday evening.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Parade of Lights on Thursday evening, with dozens of brightly-lit floats going through the downtown core with a light rain falling. There were many community groups, businesses and sports teams which had floats in this year's parade.

A Grade 4 class from Legacy Park Elementary School had a tour of the art exhibit by Metis artist Phyllis Poitras-Jarrett at the Weyburn Art Gallery. They were asked to find a "spirit bead" specially placed in each work, and to choose their favourite work out of the exhibit.
