Antique Car Show provides welcome entertainment at Gateway Lodge

Residents of Canora Gateway Lodge enjoyed the fresh air and some cool cars, as well as music by Troy MacNaughton.

CANORA - The residents of the Canora Gateway Lodge were treated to an Antique Car Show on August 11. The car show featured 18 vehicles provided by members of The Cruisers, a local car club, and individuals from the surrounding area. Troy MacNaughton of Canora, a Nashville recording artist and antique car enthusiast, provided the musical entertainment for the afternoon. The event brought out numerous neighbours and friends from the community. Many could be seen singing along and even enjoying a dance or two to the music.

“With a bit of planning and a couple of phone calls to the local car club and neighbours to spread the word, the day was soon set,” said Arlene Lazaruk, recreation co-ordinator. Vehicles for display were provided by: Troy MacNaughton, Greg Naduriak, Napolean Dmytrowich, Trent Berg, Larry Lee, Joe and Emery Chubak, Bill Rehaluk, Iona Hleboff, David Wasyliw, Mel McCormick, Phil Murrin and Gene Keyowski.

“Even the weather co-operated to make the afternoon special for the residents,” said Lazaruk. “A huge thank you goes out to all participants who helped in any way to make our show such a resounding success.”
