The Canora Composite School senior girls basketball team has returned from Christmas break to win first place at a Moosomin tournament. The Canora senior Cougars have had “a good start to the season,” according to coach Curtis Baillie.

There are some things about the proposed changes to health governance in Saskatchewan that rural people might not like.

What is prosperity? To me it would seem a roof over your head, adequate clothing, healthy food, clean water to drink as well as clean air to breathe, loving, supporting family and meaningful employment cover most of the basics.

This morning, my coworker was having a little trouble. “I swear, you’ll never fail to screw me up if you ask me to write an ampersand,” she muttered, showing me the piece of paper she was working on.

We survived Christmas in spite of all the visitors. In fact, we all enjoyed a good time. New Year’s Eve was very quiet and peaceful. The only fly in the ointment was the blizzard and extreme drop in temperature that befell us.

The junior girls basketball team of Canora Composite School has continued its season with winning two out of two games. The Canora junior Cougars girls basketball team played against Sturgis Composite High School on January 5.

After a shaky start to the season, the Canora Composite School junior boys basketball team is gaining momentum after defeating Sturgis Composite High School.
