The Town of Preeceville’s planning committee has been busy with scheduling details for the Canada 150 celebration. The dates proposed for celebration is August 4 to 6, 2017.

Agnes Murrin is the committee chair and she works with group and organization representatives.

Details are still tentative and may change, she said. On August 4, the committee is scheduling a registration, followed by opening ceremonies with a barbecue and fireworks.

Saturday will kick off with a pancake breakfast, followed by a parade, a show-and-shine, a chili cook off and games of horseshoes in the afternoon. A supper is to be followed by a street dance to conclude the Saturday events. All events scheduled on Friday and Saturday will be held downtown or at the arena.

Sunday’s events will take place at the sports grounds. A church service will kick off Sunday, followed by an old-fashioned picnic and ball tournaments.
