Yellowhead RCMP have named a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred on Keeseekoowenin First Nation in the early hours of July 28.
Police were called to a residence around 2:45 a.m., where they found two people with gunshot wounds. A 33-year-old woman was critically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition but has since been released.
Following an investigation, 52 year old Frank La Forge of Keeseekoowenin, has been identified as the suspect. He is wanted for first-degree murder and attempted murder.
La Forge is described as 5’8″, 150 lbs, with brown eyes and a bald head. He is believed to be in the Yellowhead area of Manitoba, with connections to Kamsack and Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Police warn the public not to approach him and to call 9-1-1 if he is seen.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine if others were involved in the incident.
