The Yorkton Co-op, which operates a grocery store and a convenience store in Kamsack, has donated $5,100 towards a new CT Scan for the regional hospital in Yorkton.

In ancient times a Chinese farmer lost his only horse. The horse had bolted from the yard and was gone. His neighbours came by to sympathize with him. “Such bad luck that your horse is gone,” they said.

A major landscaping project has occupied staff and residents of Eaglestone Lodge during the past month.

With the tables full, music to entertain and free coffee with cake and ice cream, the community of Pelly celebrated Canada’s birthday on July 1. The event took place at the Happy Hearts Centre followed by fi reworks at the Pelly sports grounds.

There are still a few people who will ask: “What is the Farmer’s Filthy 5” – an event which was held on June 6 at Stenen. The answer makes them proud to be from this part of the province.

Recently, the Water Security Agency released a water supply outlook for the province which summarizes stream flows and water supply in reservoirs as of July 1.

Victor Bautista of Water Polo Saskatchewan introduced the sport of water polo to a group of about 20 swimmers at the Kamsack Swimming Pool on Friday.

Science-crazy kids don’t have to worry about being bored this summer. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) has coordinated an array of activities for active, curious, young people.

The final graduating class at the Fort Livingstone School in Pelly was bid farewell during a ceremony on June 26. The graduation exercises honouring the graduates took place in the school gymnasium at 7 p.m.

Among Kamsack area residents who followed the action at this year’s Calgary Stampede held July 3 to 12 are members of the Kamsack Indoor Rodeo committee who recognized several competitors from their Kamsack performances.
