A former Yorkton Harvest (now Maulers) player may be headed to the big leagues. Ethan Bear, 19, signed an entry level contract with the Edmonton Oilers earlier this month.

Wendy Norrish has been appointed to the Buchanan Housing Authority Board of Directors. Other members of the board of directors are Shirley MacLeod, Sharon Murray, Adam Kosar and Nicholas Woloschuk. Woloschuk is chairperson.

KM Auto Care held its 25th anniversary barbecue Friday. The event included entertainment by local recording artist Jackie Guy. All proceeds from the barbecue went to Yorkton SPCA.

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS.

Heavy rains might have prevented the actual walking tour part of the first of Randy’s Summer Tours of Yorkton, but that didn’t dampen the spirit of a room full of history buffs, eager to learn more about the history of Yorkton.
