For the first time in 30 years, Kelly Patterson invested in a pair of longjohns. It was one of his many layers as he worked in front of his Simpson Street home in December.

As part of its plan to address forest insect and disease threats, the Government of Saskatchewan has listed the emerald ash borer as a designated insect pest, a key step in addressing this threat to the province’s forests.

A Yorkton man is facing charges related to four robberies at businesses in Yorkton, Melville and Ituna. Chris Chernoff, 43, appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on January 16 with 12 charges.

The final numbers are in, and the Yorkton Salvation Army had a successful Christmas season raising funds for its programming.

The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce (YCC) kicked off its new year with a breakfast event at St. Gerard’s Hall on Jan. 11. On an ice-cold morning, the YCC inducted its 2018 Board of Directors. 16 people were sworn into the board.

As the Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble’s Malanka event drew to a close on Jan. 13, Matthew Mandziuk said goodbye to his company. Mandziuk, the president of Once a Bottle Time, provided 40 bottles with decorative lights to the event.

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) will issue approximately 60 cannabis retail permits to private operators in as many as 40 Saskatchewan municipalities and First Nation communities.
