CALDER - Spring supper planned

Mildred Danylko went to Saskatoon to attend the baptism of her great-grandson, Parker Andrews, son of Gavin and Jessica Andrews. Mildred also visited with her daughter Leanne and granddaughters Kendra and Brooklyn.

Mildred Danylko went to Saskatoon to attend the baptism of her great-grandson, Parker Andrews, son of Gavin and Jessica Andrews. Mildred also visited with her daughter Leanne and granddaughters Kendra and Brooklyn.

Mildred Danylko also spent a week in Phoenix, AZ with Cheryl and Perry Kitz, grandson Garvin Andrews and family, and Madison Hass in the New Year.

The Calder Seniors held their whist drive and here are the winners: 1st, Gerald Shymko; 2nd, Donna Fustey; 3rd, Peter Wesechuk; low Jusy Pryslak. The Pot of Gold Winners were Judy Pryslak and Donna Fustey.

The Calder Rec. Board will be holding a Spring Supper on April 5, 2014, at the Calder Hall. Supper will start at 4:30 to 7 o'clock. We will be serving perogies, scalloped potatoes, pulled pork, sausage, sweet cabbage rolls, sour cabbage rolls, salads, coffee, and dessert. Watch for posters and the newspapers for prices. Everyone is welcome to attend this first time event. So mark it on your calendars.

The Calder students in grades 1-6 have started swimming lessons in Yorkton. A huge thank-you to all moms and dads who volunteered to help at the pool.

The Calder students also use the Calder skating rink for some of their Phys. Ed.

The Calder School is participating in the SaskTel Pioneers phone book recycling program. If you have any old Melville-Yorkton phone books drop them off at the Calder School during the week.

Calder School is also participating in the Ink Cartridge Recycling Program. If you have any ink cartridges drop them off at the Calder School during the week at the School office.

Yorkton Regional High School Raiders did a presentation at the Calder School for the grade eight students.

Calder students that are in grade eight will have the Yorkton Regional High School out for Raider for a day. Students will be sent home information from the Yorkton Regional High School regarding that day.

The Calder grade seven band students will be attending the Optimist Band Festival in Regina.

The Calder students in grade 4-6 will be attending the sixth annual standard track and field meet on April 2, 2014, in Yorkton.

Sympathy goes out to Walter Fyck and family on the passing of his mother.

Sympathy goes out to Raymond Kendal and family on the passing of Raymond's wife, Sandi Kendal.

The Calder Recreation Board will be holding a Calder Community and Surrounding Area Consignment Auction on June 22, 2014 at the Calder Community Skating Rink, Sale will start at 10:30. If you have any household, toys, antiques, farm machinery, etc., that you would like to get rid of, bring it on down Friday, or Saturday to set up. For more information phone Ivan at 306-621-8855 or Curtis at 306-937-0144. There will be a breakfast starting at 8 a.m. at the rink, burgers and hotdogs will be for sale all through the day. So we hope to see you there. Watch for posters.
