It is time again for residents to order their daffodils from the Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. The daffodil is the Canadian Cancer Society's symbol of hope in the fight against cancer.
Preorders for the daffodils will be taken from now until the deadline of Friday, Mar. 16. All orders from the Weyburn area can be placed through the Weyburn offices of the Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Daffodil orders will be delivered on Monday, Mar. 26 in the City of Weyburn; and Tuesday, Mar. 27 for immediate rural areas.
The new daffodil pin will also be available for purchase in April. Residents are encouraged to wear a daffodil pin to show their support for people living with cancer. Pins will be available between March 18 and April 30 for a donation of any amount from locations across Saskatchewan.
On Daffodil Day, Friday, April 27, residents are asked to wear their pin, and do something practical and helpful for someone they know who has cancer.
The annual door-to-door canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society will be held from Apr. 16 to 20 in Weyburn. The Southeast Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society is seeking volunteers to help with the canvas.
This event is more than raising funds - it's also about raising awareness of cancer issues, and the work that the Society does in support of their mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of people living with cancer.
