It's been an active building year in Yorkton continuing a trend which extends back several years now. In 2010 the City of Yorkton provided 74 building permits; 28 single family residential, eight multi-family, four industrial and 34 commercial residential.


The building permits combined for a value of $22,143,590. In 2011 there were 69 permits valued at $24,665,117. Residential was actually down three, but the value was up more than $1 million in 2011.


There were three more commercial permits in 2011, valued at about $1.3 million more than 2010. The strong numbers have continued into 2012, with 27 single family residential permits registered through until the end of July valued at $7,611,915. There have been eight multi-family residences valued at $5,490,000.


On the commercial side 38 permits through to the end of July have been issued with a value of $40,213,730, with one industrial permit for $362,000. The 74 permits to the end of July have a combined value of $53,677,645.
