Two suspects are in custody following a theft at the Loaf N' Jug convenience store in Yorkton Tuesday night.

Mavrick George McDonald, 29, and George Andrew McDonald, 26, are both charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court Thursday morning. Mavrick also faces one count of wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence.

Sgt. Rob Laurent of the Yorkton municipal RCMP confirmed rumours that the co-owner was distracted by a knock at the back door. When she went to answer it, a lone male entered through the front and stole approximately $200 in cash. She returned just in time to see the man who was wearing a mask flee the scene.

Yorkton police tracked the pair to an apartment building nearby with help from the Yorkton Police Dog Service, where they were arrested without incident.
