Yorkton – Kevin Lukey, CEO of Cornerstone Credit Union presented a cheque for $15,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director, of The Health Foundation, to assist paying for a new CT scanner.
“Cornerstone Credit Union supports the work of The Health Foundation because they provide a valuable service as they raise money to enhance the healthcare services for the people of our region. Healthcare affects all of us, and we all deserve to have the best healthcare possible,” said Lukey.
“Supporting the new CT scanner is important. Having good healthcare available locally is a part of what makes a community strong and a good place to live, work and raise a family.”
“Cornerstone is a member owned financial institution. Our shareholders are also our members. Unlike a bank, our members and shareholders are always one and the same. When we profit as an organization, so do our members and our communities. Our profits are invested locally back into the communities we serve as demonstrated through this donation presented today,” continued Lukey.
“Cornerstone Credit Union has always been a strong supporter of our work, and has financially contributed to all of our most important fundraising campaigns. “It is very important to us to know we can count on the support of businesses like Cornerstone Credit Union when we begin a major fundraising campaign like this one.”
“Our work improves our local healthcare, enhancing the services that are available and often creating new services, so people don’t have to travel to the larger cities to access the care they need. It is about improving our regional community. Buying the new CT scanner will improve the diagnostic services available to everyone in this area,” said Ross Fisher. That is important, because for many medical conditions the earlier and more accurately doctors can diagnose the condition, the more likely it is the patient will have a positive outcome,” continued Fisher.
