From September 17-October 8, Dr. Brass is working hard to collect donations for improving our school library through the Indigo Love of Reading Adopt A School campaign. The school’s goal is to significantly increase the number of books in their library, and they hope the fundraising efforts will go a long way to helping them achieve that goal.
“I am compelled to share what we firmly believe at Dr. Brass School. Our staff believes ALL Students can read, that reading is a ticket to a bright future, and family involvement leads to reading success. We have seen amazing growth focusing on our foundational beliefs. Our young readers have shown an avid love for reading and our school library often leads the district in circulation. The more books we can put in the hands of our students; the more their love for reading grows. Every day I witness students reading diligently and thinking about their next book. Reading is important to me as it fuels new learning for myself,” said Principal Jason Gordon in a release.
“At Dr. Brass School, we believe that reading opens doors to a bright future. By adding more books to our library, we are adding more opportunities for our students to succeed!” added Julie Parisloff, teacher librarian.
The school welcomes and greatly appreciates any and all community support for growing their library collection, and invites the community to check out the school blog through the Adopt a School website. Support can be in the form of donations, putting a “heart” on stories written on our blog, or sharing your own story about how you have been impacted through literacy.
