Congratulations go out to Amanda (Zimmer) and Kyle Johnston of Balgonie on the birth of triplet daughters on March 26, 2011. There was no room in a Saskatchewan hospital for the high priority birth so Amanda was sent to Winnipeg, MB where Emma (2.7 lbs), Alina (3.3 lbs), and Tianna (3.6 lbs) were born. They were all in Winnipeg until April 26 when Amanda and the girls were flown back to Regina. Tianna and Alina went straight home while Emma stayed in a Regina hospital for another week. Everyone is doing real well and the girls are between 7.5 and 8.5 pounds now.
Congratulations also to proud grandparents, Ron and Marlene Zimmer, excited aunties, Sherry and Kim and extended family.
Dallas and Danya Forsberg and friend, Terrie, were Sunday visitors with his Grandma, Mary Forsberg. Dallas got the lawn mowed while the sun shone and, kudos to you, as that seems to be a tough job in between all the rain showers we've been getting these days. They enjoyed supper together before heading back to Regina.
Jean Allan of Maple Ridge, BC had a birthday on June 11 when she officially entered a new decade. She went sky-diving to celebrate and suffered an injury of 3 broken ribs on the way down, as her parachute wasn't packed properly and opened with an exaggerated snap! She is an experienced sky-diver and managed a very good landing in spite of the incident. She's fine, however, she is taking some time off work while recuperating. Hey, Jean, most people that want time off work, just retire at 60! Louie Nagy now living in Saskatoon (retired for a few years, ha,ha!) celebrated a birthday also on June 11. Best wishes to the both of you.
Riley Talbot held his 9th birthday party at Sunset Beach, Crooked Lake on the weekend. Out of towners in attendance were Great-Grandpa John Talbot, Grandpa Tom and Grandma Joan Harris, and Sarah Slotsve, all from Esterhazy; Auntie Dawn, Uncle Mervin, Hudson and Kareena Andersen from Regina; and Auntie Chris Topliss of Yorkton. A birthday party at the lake usually means a chance to swim...well, this year, it's hard to tell where the beach is as much of the campground is still flooding so swimming will have to wait until things dry up a bit.
Harvey and Blanche Weir from Welland, Ontario were visiting in Saskatchewan this week. They visited with Harold McQuitty in Kennedy and also some of Carl and Ocie's family at Manor near Kenosee Lake. They stayed with his sister, Hazel and Ab Kovacs in Esterhazy who accompanied them as they toured Dubuc, renewed a few friendships, visited the village cemetery, and stopped for a cup of coffee with Audrey and Peter Nielsen.
