Saskatchewan residents have until April 29, 2011 to nominate provincial employees for the 2011 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the government and citizens of the province.

"Saskatchewan's public servants are talented and caring individuals who endeavor to provide policies, programs and services that benefit the people of this province day-in and day-out," Premier Brad Wall said. "They demonstrate a dedication to the people of Saskatchewan that will continue to serve us well as we move forward to strengthen and grow our great province."

"This award recognizes those public servants who have made exceptional contributions to the people of Saskatchewan," Provincial Secretary Donna Harpauer said. "It gives us the opportunity to say thank you, while celebrating the work that they do for all of us."

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee. Up to six awards will be announced during National Public Service Week in June, with the presentation event occurring in the fall.
