Snapshots - Friday 3:30
This film is the twenty-five year photo diary of Saskatchewan filmmaker Brian Stockton. I liked the film because the photos are just like those in any of our family albums - high school graduations, summer vacations, babies. I'd like to talk to Brian about the film's ending, the conclusion he draws from two significant episodes that changed his life.
Nevill in my back yard - Saturday 9:00
Once upon a time, in the Eastern part of the City, a wild animal came to stay. But for the residents of Neville Park, a coyote's arrival is no fairy tale. Small pets are killed, parents fear for the lives of their children and at the Town Hall meetings, the battle lines are drawn.
The coyote as predator must be a "hot" topic this year. Jason Young, a fillmmaker with the National Film Board, submitted his film, Bad Coyote. It is available through mini-cinema.
7 1/2 Steps - Friday 2:00
This film examines the life of a grandmother and the house where she was born and died. It will ring true as it brings back a flood of memories for of those who grew up in rural Saskatchwan.
Never ever do this at Home - Saturday 9:00
If you like wacky humour, this should do the trick.
Oil Sands Karaoke - Friday 9:50
Oil Sands Karaoke is about five workers set to compete in a karaoka contest. They are engaging characters caught up in a life of controversy.
Thomas Saturday 10:10
This is a little scarey. A neurosugeon, who is self-medicating his personal crisis from a bottle of vodka, is about to remove Marie's brain tumour. This film is Robert Lepage at his best.
