The Parkland Prairie Girl Guide Extra Ops Unit held a Wake a Thon on Friday, March 22. The girls raised pledges and then stayed awake from 8:00 p.m. Friday night until 8:00 a.m. Saturday. During the Wake a Thon, the girls learned how to facepaint from Rhonda Roweand did Zumba with Sherry Shumay. Kennedy Todosichuk, Miss Teen Eastern Saskatchewan 2013 also came and talked to the girls about how beauty is about kindness and self confidence. An International trip is being planned that will include guide programming touching on international awareness, science, personal development, and arts and culture. To help with the costs the Guides are raising funds through various events. April 8 - 10, 2013 is the cookie blitz. Guides will be going door to door selling cookies.
