Ian Slimmon, Manager of Grain Millers Canada operations in Yorkton, presented a cheque for $5,000 to Ross Fisher, Executive Director, of The Health Foundation, to assist paying for a new CT scanner.

“Grain Millers understands how very important having a CT scanner available at in our hospital is for everyone in this region. A CT scan is used for a huge range of medical issues, but it is the main diagnostic tool for diagnosing heart and cancer conditions. That makes it very important, and we want to help make sure that equipment is available for customers and employees and our friends and neighbors in this region, continued Mr. Slimmon.

“Having good healthcare available is a part of what makes a community strong and a good place to live, work and raise a family,” continued Mr. Slimmon. “Giving back to the community is something Grain Millers has always done and we are proud to continue doing.”

“We are grateful for this donation and it comes at a really good time. We are just starting our final push, to finish raising the money we need to buy the new CT, and hopefully this donation will help our momentum,” said Ross Fisher. Grain Millers has has supported the work of The Health Foundation for years, and it is good to know we can continue to count on their support whenever we have to undertake major projects like this.”
