Health Centre locking doors

To increase safety and security of patients, staff and visitors at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, the interior doors of the patient entrance are now locked during evening and night hours.

To increase safety and security of patients, staff and visitors at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, the interior doors of the patient entrance are now locked during evening and night hours.

Inside patient entrance doors will be locked daily at 9:00 p.m. and unlocked at 6:00 a.m.

"As part of our last Accreditation survey report, it was indicated that we should enhance steps to ensure safety and security at YRHC during night hours," said Lorelei Stusek, Vice-President of Corporate Services. "By securing the doors during nighttime hours, we are responding to that need and keeping patient and staff security top-of-mind while maintaining our 24/7 patient access."

A phone located in the foyer between the outside doors and the inside locked doors will be available for individuals to directly contact Switchboard and obtain access to the building between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
