The SaskEnergy Heart & Stroke Big Bike is putting on a ton of mileage this June, all for an important, life-saving cause. The province's largest bike - weighing 2,000 lbs., seating 30 and measuring 30 feet long - will be in 22 communities across Saskatchewan this June for 25 rides. It's all part of the Big Bike's journey to over 50 Saskatchewan communities this summer, where community groups, corporate teams, and individuals will hop on board to raise funds for research into heart disease and stroke that saves lives.

"The people of Saskatchewan are once again showing their generous hearts through their support of the SaskEnergy Heart & Stroke Big Bike. Our thanks to those who are riding and donating, and to our provincial sponsor SaskEnergy, we are all helping to prevent and overcome the devastating effects of heart disease and stroke, one of the leading causes of death in Canada," says Heart and Stroke Foundation CEO Lucy Buller.

The Big Bike has raised over $4.1 million for the Heart and Stroke Foundation since the event first rolled out in Saskatchewan through the support of individuals and teams from across the province. This year's goal is to raise $420,000, funds that will support root-cause research for heart disease and stroke, as well as crucial education programs to help people learn how to protect their health. SaskEnergy is the major corporate supporter of this initiative.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is making a difference. Continued support of research is the key to finding earlier ways to diagnose and better ways to treat high blood pressure, as well as heart disease and stroke.
