A 39-year-old Keesekoose woman is headed to federal prison for manslaughter in the death of her cousin's boyfriend.

Tania Quewezance was arrested and charged with second-degree murder early in the morning of June 22, 2013 when the RCMP responded to a disturbance call on the First Nation. Police found a 35-year-old man from Runnymede dead on the scene.

Quewezance pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of manslaughter. At Court of Queen's Bench in Yorkton March 31 she received a sentence of three years plus the eight months she has already served on remand.
