On Monday March 31, 2014 students from St. Mary's Ukrainian Language class participated in Paska making. The Paska class was conducted under the skillful guidance of Verna Moroz and Sylvia Gazdewich. The language class incorporates the Ukrainian culture, history and traditions. Paska, a round rich bread and greatly decorated with braids, crossed, twists, rosettes and birds, is one of the traditional breads associated with Easter. Each students was able to take their Paska home with them. The two weeks prior these students participated in writing pysanky, which is the decorated Easter egg.
