The Yorkton Film Festival continues this year’s OPEN Cinema screening program, with a kick-off for a unique event taking place at the Yorkton Public Library, through a screening of the film Human Library Stories.

The screening will take place on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Yorkton Public Library.

“Human Library Stories is a one-hour documentary about some of the human books who participated in Ottawa’s Human Library. The project allows people to “sign out” another person for a one-on-one conversation about a specific subject or experience. The documentary profiles several of the human books and captures why these people are so fascinating to our readers.”

Joining us for discussion after the film, and to highlight the Yorkton Public Library’s Human Books event, Chief Librarian Meagan Richards will be on hand to discuss the film and how Yorkton’s own event with human books will take place on Saturday, January 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As always, attendance at this year’s OPEN Cinema program has its benefits. Those who attend five out of the six screenings this year will be eligible for a draw for FREE Lobsterfest tickets at the 2017 Yorkton Film Festival.
