Preeceville and area will now have increased access to primary health care and emergency room services, including extended evening and weekend hours, effective January 23, 2017: Monday to Friday emergency room services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This is an addition of 37 hours per week of emergency room coverage from the current model.
For non-emergency care, physician and nurse practitioner appointments are now available with enhanced hours at the Preeceville Primary Health Care Clinic: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Saturday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This is an addition of 27 hours per week primary health care coverage from the current model.
Diagnostic services, home care, public health, therapies, visiting mental health and addiction services, chronic disease management and dietician services continue to be offered on-site and through Telehealth services at the Preeceville and District Health Centre.
Ambulance services continue to be provided around the clock, seven days a week.
The Emergency Room should be visited in emergency situations, which include injuries or illness that may pose an immediate threat to life or limb, such as severe chest or abdominal pain, breathing difficulties or accident-related injuries.
Non-urgent conditions such as sore throats, cold symptoms, prescriptions or other conditions that are not an immediate threat to life or limb can be best treated by accessing primary health care services. www.SunriseHealthRegion.sk.ca.
