Yorkton RCMP are requesting the public’s help solving a home invasion that took place October 22.

According to a press release, on that evening two men wearing masks forcibly entered the home on Sunset Drive North and tied up the male and female residents police described as “elderly.”

The subjects, described as six-feet tall or taller with athletic builds and wearing dark clothing, then allegedly took a “large amount of cash” from the residence. Investigators believe they fled the scene on foot.

The victims suffered “minor injuries” which were treated at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. They were released later in the evening.

No details are being given as to whether this was a random crime or if the couple was targeted for some reason.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP is requesting anyone with information on the crime call the Yorkton municipal detachment at 306-786-2400 or contact Crimestoppers.
