The Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance (SCGA) will be holding their annual Contractor Safety Breakfasts across Saskatchewan over the next month.
This event provides a hearty breakfast paired with a crucial message: Ensure safe digging practices are used at all times when working around underground and overhead infrastructure. Bringing awareness to, and promoting, the Click Before You Dig and Look Up and Live initiatives is especially important as the 2016 construction season is getting underway.
This year the CSAA and SCGA will be holding the Yorkton Safety Breakfast on Wednesday, April 13th at 7:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Centre (240 Wellington Avenue). Media is invited to attend the breakfast. A representative from the CSAA/SCGA will be available for interviews.
Invited breakfast guests include construction workers, supervisors, business owners, rural municipalities, emergency responders and anyone who is associated in any aspect of ground disturbance or working near overhead lines.
The CSAA has been holding these free contractor breakfasts for over 25 years in Saskatchewan and this year they will be hosting 28 sessions across the province. Last year saw the reduction of accidental line hits throughout Saskatchewan; programs like the Contractor Safety Breakfasts are educational tools which are essential to continuing this positive trend.
