Shoppers Drug Mart’s Shoppers Love You campaign picks a women’s based charity to support, and they picked the Yorkton Family Resource Centre because they advocate for women and their health and well-being. Customers buy cards of different value, and all money raised goes to a local organization. Shoppers Drug Mart also hosts cosmetic and beauty galas, which also supports the FRC.
Last year, the support of the pharmacy went to a massage chair, which helped new moms while they are doing education programs and other groups, such as the postpartum depression group. This year, the funds will go to self-awareness workshops, a new program at the FRC, to help with mental health. The FRC also provides child care during these programs.

“Without Shoppers, we wouldn’t be able to do as much as we can in the community. Businesses like Shoppers that give back locally, it’s investing right back into the community,” said Gelowitz.
