Jim Davies and Merv Weinmeister of the Yorkton Antique Car Association presented a cheque for $2,500 towards the STARS Heli-pad to Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation. "We've been holding events and having car shows for a number of years now, and at each of them it seems we make a little money and it's been starting to add up. A number of us had noticed The Health Foundation was raising funds to bring the STARS air ambulance program to the Yorkton hospital, and when we talked about it we thought supporting this program was a great idea," said Jim Davies, President of the Yorkton Antique Car Association. "We have about 50 members in the club, and we hold a number of events each year. We just held our 10th Annual Cruise the Spirit Car Show at Good Spirit Lake this summer, and the other key event we hold each year is the Swap Meet in the spring," continued Mr. Davies. "This is a very generous and a very welcome donation," said Ross Fisher. Mr. Weinmeister called the other day to say they had decided to make a donation, and $2,500 is very nice donation. That was a very pleasant surprise. I really appreciate it when people call to say they think what we are working on is a good idea and they would like to help by making a donation. I hope others notice this donation and think about supporting the STARS heli-pad program as well, continued Mr. Fisher. The Yorkton Antique Car Association meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Western Development Museum. Interested people are welcome to attend.
