Summer reading planned

Parkland Regional Library Annual meeting on May 1st saw the RM #213 Pam Hall (on Parkland board as well) and Sandra Kerr from Town of Saltcoats, representatives who were very pleased that there will be no cutting of library hours.

Parkland Regional Library Annual meeting on May 1st saw the RM #213 Pam Hall (on Parkland board as well) and Sandra Kerr from Town of Saltcoats, representatives who were very pleased that there will be no cutting of library hours. Both reps went to the meeting with their council's approval of a levy increase for this community service. It is noted that there is no summer reading program budget this year as the focus is on SILS (Saskatchewan Information and Library Services Consortium) "1 Province, 1 Library Card". This province wide library upgrade will have many benefits for patrons.

Laketown Leaders host the regular seniors meeting on Monday May 10th, 1:00pm followed by regular Monday games at approximately 2:00pm.

A bridal shower was held Saturday April 3rd for bride elect Cortney Armbruster.

The Cedar Room at the Parkland Greenhouse was nicely decorated and friends, family and neighbours tastefully enjoyed and entertaining afternoon. The bride extended a gracious thank you to all who attended, for the lovely gifts and the exquisite cake decorated by Les.

Saltcoats Library Thursday Crafts for Kiddies Kindergarten to ten years of age will be completed for the season on May 6th until the fall. The Summer Reading Program starts Wednesday July 7th at 2:00pm. There is an Artists Gallery section on Wednesdays to the end of June for Tae and See.A reminder that "Fervor Fit for Life" will be presented by Daniel Tatton on Friday May 7th at 7:00pm at Saltcoats Library. Topic being discussed is Metabolic typing, Personal Nutrition, Core Conditioning and how it relates to everyday life.
