Throughout May, Sunrise Health Region will be conducting its annual Employee Recognition Awards with events planned for across the Parkland area.
At the monthly Board of Directors meeting April 30, Suann Laurent, Sunrise CEO reported the region would be trying something new this year.
Because there are so many events, some of which are overlapping, it is impractical for her and/or board chair Lawrence Chomos to make it to each of the events so they have prepared a video message, which will be played at all the ceremonies.
Laurent explained that the message was congratulatory, but also included key messages the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) wants to reinforce with staff.
The backup plan is to have representatives of the ELT or board read the message in case there are technical problems.
Laurent said, the reason for the experiment is simple.
"We really do appreciate what our front line workers and managers do," she said.
Sharon Tropin, Sunrise director of communications said the video turned out well and they will evaluate the response to determine if it is something they will continue in the future.
