Two Yorkton women accused of an assault that left another Yorkton woman with a serious gash on her face had their first court appearances November 25.
Ashley Wilson and Kendra Potzus were charged in late October for an incident that occurred at the City Limits Inn October 24. Police said at the time the victim received facial injuries from a “weapon of opportunity,” likely a bottle or a glass.
Wilson, through her lawyer Thomas Campbell, pleaded not guilty Monday to one count of aggravated assault. She chose trial by provincial court judge and a trial is scheduled for May 25.
Potzus was represented in court by Regina counsel Michael Tochor on one count of common assault. That case was adjourned until January 11 for plea pending discussions between the defence and Crown.
