On Saturday, January 16th, The Health Foundation held a brunch to say thank you to the volunteers who keep the Gift Shoppe in the Regional Hospital open week after week. “I think most people don’t realize that the Gift Shoppe is staffed entirely by volunteers,” said Ross Fisher, Executive Director of The Health Foundation.
“We hold a thank you brunch every year to say thank you to our volunteers, who dedicate their time working a three of four hour shift each week at the Gift Shoppe. The Gift Shoppe is open 80 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are 36 Gift Shoppe volunteers.
This year we decided to recognize the 13 volunteers who have volunteered for 10 or more years at the Gift Shoppe. Each of the volunteers were presented with a framed print as a token of our appreciation for all the work they do keeping the Gift Shoppe open for the staff, visitors and patients,” continued Mr. Fisher.
