Built in 1903 of logs and lumber at a cost of $2,500.00. The four acre site was donated by Ivan Holovenko. In 1897 Ukrainian pioneers came to this area from Vitlyna, Makovy'ka, Liasky, in the Jaroslaw county of Ukraine. Jaroslaw School is located 3 miles S.E.
I took the photo of the signage around 1990, when I took my friend Nettie Bugoy, née Dobko of Otthon for a drive out in the country side. I verified with Walter Bugoy that Jaroslaw had been Nettie's parish, where the family attended mass, went to catechism, etc.
The photo of the church is from a web site on the church's history. According to this web site, the church seated 30 persons.
This church is located on SE Section 28 Township 25 Range 5 West of the 2nd Meridian--southwest approximately 9 miles or 14 km from Yorkton.
