Building on the success of previous conferences, the Yorkton Tribal Council and the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the return of the TransACTIONS conference to Yorkton March 6 & 7, 2013 at the Gallagher Centre.
The objective of the conference is to highlight the benefits and resulting positive relationships that develop when Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities work together in the areas of encouraging entrepreneurism and economic development.
Dale Domres, Director of Economic Development for the Yorkton Tribal Council explained the target audience for the TransACTIONS conference "It engages leaders from all communities who are committed to building their local, regional and provincial economies," he said. "The presentations by the speakers will be informative, providing lots of ideas about how communities can work together to encourage our youth in their pursuit of business opportunities and to enhance our economic development efforts." High school students from the region have also been invited to attend.
Juanita Polegi, Executive Director of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce is excited about the Conference's speaker roster. "In the area of youth entrepreneurship, Devon Brooks and Kendal Netmaker, Canada's representatives to the 2011 G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit in Nice, France, will relay their stories. Also speaking will be Shawn and Lane Carrier of Ituna", she said. "In the area of economic development, Tonya Surman of Toronto, Milton Tootoosis of the Office of the Treaty Commissioner, and Steve McLellan of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce will be speaking."

The Early Bird Registration fee is in effect until February 11. The deadline for registering for the conference is February 25.
