UPDATE: School bus/train collision

Carlyle RCMP advise that all 7 youth passengers on the school bus were examined by EMS at the Carlyle Elementary School and then released to family members.

Carlyle RCMP advise that all 7 youth passengers on the school bus were examined by EMS at the Carlyle Elementary School and then released to family members.
One youth suffered a scraped leg when she was knocked off her seat as a result of the collision.
The 67 year old male bus driver was also examined on scene by EMS and then released.
The train has now departed the scene and the schools bus was towed from the scene. Carlyle RCMP are still obtaining statements in regards to the collision and no charges have been laid at this time.
Previous release:
Carlyle RCMP are currently at the scene of a Train and School Bus Collision. The collision occurred when an East Bound Train collided with a South Bound School Bus at the railway crossing on 4th Street East in Carlyle, SK. The train hit the passenger side front Axel of the School Bus and spun it off the train tracks at which time the train then came to a stop. The bus had 7 youth on it and was heading from the elementary school to the high school in Carlyle. The RCMP report that at this time 1 youth received minor scratches. Fire, Ambulance and RCMP are still on scene and the remaining youth are being further examined by EMS at the elementary school to ensure there are no further injuries.
