This photo donated to the City of Yorkton Archives by Del Sveinssen shows the early commercial days of Yorkton. The Grand Trunk Pacific tracks (now the Canadian National Railway) would have been recently laid, in 1910. And the three story warehouse of the Western Grocers Limited does not yet have its business name painted on it. This building was destroyed by fire in 1941, and replaced by the two-storey building which still stands today.
We are always looking for donations of photos and documents of the early years to about 1970s.
