Yorkton Chamber of Commerce to hold election

Ten people have filed their nomination papers for the 8 positions open on the Board of Directors of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce.

Seeking election are Mark Hoddenbagh; Bob Knox; Sarah Kowalchuk; Joseph Ortynsky; Jeff Prior; Jessica Richards; Sunil Shah; Mike Stackhouse; Ajay Tadi; and Carol Yaholnitsky.

Voting begins noon November 8 and ends noon November 15. Chamber members only are eligible to vote. Voting will take place through the Chamber website www.yorktonchamber.com

Photos and profiles of the candidates will be posted on the website by November 8.

Juanita Polegi, Executive Director of the Chamber notes that the slate of candidates represents the diversity of the business community. “Each candidate brings unique ideas and experience that will add value to the Board,” she said. “It’s important for Chamber members to vote.”

The new Directors will begin their 2 year term January 1, 2020.

The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce is “the voice of business in Yorkton” and represents over 460 members. A sixteen member Board of Directors, elected by the membership governs the organization.
