The people behind Killer Snails: Assassins of the Sea are clearly focused on education being part of the games they do.

Yesterday at approximately 6 p.m., officers from the Yorkton RCMP were called to a report of shots fired near Duncan Street and Wellington Avenue in Yorkton, SK. An adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound, was located at the scene.

Parkland College welcomed a new group of firefighting recruits July 29 in Melville. Twenty-one students are enrolled in the NFPA 1001 Professional Firefighting program this fall.

On July 31, a car drove through the window and into Ramsay Health and Fitness. Yorkton RCMP and Yorkton Fire Protective Services were on the scene of the crash.

Yorkton Council set its meeting dates for 2020 as required by the Procedures Bylaw. The bylaw calls for a Council Meeting Calendar for the upcoming year to be presented to Council, for approval, no later than September 30 of the preceding year.

Members of the Yorkton Brick Mill Heritage Society appeared at the regular meeting of Yorkton Council Monday looking for City dollars to take the work at the site into the next phase.
