The 20th annual Yorkton Santa Claus Parade marked a major milestone, having celebrated 20 years of delighting people of all ages in the city. For one participant, that milestone marks the end of an era.

For the first time, the CP Holiday Train is making a stop in Yorkton to spread early Christmas cheer. The Holiday Train, which raises funds for food banks across America and Canada, started its cross-country trip on Nov. 25.

On November 26, 1966, joy came to Saskatchewan, as the Roughriders won their first Grey Cup in the team’s history. The Roughies, as they were referred to at the time, triumphed over Ottawa’s own, inferior Rough Riders 29-14.
