A taste of Jamaica came to Yorkton last weekend, as people from across the community experienced authentic Caribbean cuisine and music as they celebrated the country’s independence.

Yorkton’s own Bonnie Rushowick has won an award. She took home the 2017 Deputy Minister’s Award for Excellence for Management Excellence. The award is one of several given out to acknowledge the work of the staff in the federal government.

Kasper Bergman has been reappointed to the Langenburg Housing Authority Board of Directors. Other members of the board of directors are Brenda Weiss, Ronald Koch, Ben Mussell and Iris P. Simpson. Simpson is chairperson.

Twenty Scouts, Ventures’ and Leaders participated in the Canadian Jamboree at Camp Nedooae, NS July 5-16th, 2017. The Scouts most amazing journey started with their flight to Halifax on July 5.
