This spring, Parkland College is adding a program to its offerings at the Trades and Technology Centre. The SaskPolytech Electrician Applied Certificate program will be delivered in Yorkton starting in mid-April.

Edith Maddaford has been reappointed to the Saltcoats Housing Authority Board of Directors. Other members of the board of directors are Sharon Gibler, Len Cameron, Betty Michael and Cameron Louttit. Maddaford is chairperson.

Two youths accused of killing a 67-year-old Yorkton man last fall have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and robbery with violence charges. Lawrence Skoretz was found unresponsive on Wellington Park Road at approximately 5:15 a.m.

A judge has denied bail to a 50-year-old area man on crystal meth trafficking charges. Karl Vopni was arrested January 26 following a traffic stop in Yorkton. Police allege that a subsequent search of the vehicle, turned up 5.
